A little bit about

How we work

We will collaborate closely with you, capturing every little detail of your brief. Whether it’s one room, or an entire home our installations will always be contemporary, comfy and practical.

Spark Your Inspiration

At Design’d Living we are always looking for those little extra sparks, we’ll go the extra mile for you, dare to be different…the sort of people who’d (unapologetically) take the last biscuit from the tin.

Phase 1

Concepts & ideation

At the beginning of each project we will sit down with you to explore ideas and get to know each other. It’s the perfect time to find out what you are looking for, we will listen, take note, and offer our advice. You can tell us about your timescale, budget and priorities, we will then go away and create an initial design brief and fee proposal for you to consider.

Phase 2

Once we are all singing from the same hymn sheet, we will work with you to create a detailed brief and wish list. From there, we will create mood boards, make personalised recommendations and present to you our preliminary concepts and drawings. This is also the time to make any revisions and amendments before signing-off this concept stage and moving forward into design development.

Phase 3

Putting plans in place

During this development phase we will create detailed designs and CAD drawings to feature proposed layouts. Depending on the work you are having done, these plans may include lighting, ceiling and floor finishes, bathroom or kitchen layouts, window treatments and bespoke joinery. We will also consult with any third-party specialists required and present to you our full specifications, costing, schedules and drawings for your approval.

Phase 4

Moving and shaking

Once the final designs have been approved, we will release the tender documents for detailed quotations and timings, before appointing contracts and making any minor adjustments to our estimations. During the construction phase we will work with the contractors and regularly monitor progress, deliveries and installations. We can also offer a project management service should you wish to have someone onsite on a more full-time basis.

Phase 5

Should there be any minor defects or changes required we will work alongside the contractor to rectify these. Once you are happy with the work, we will issue a certificate of practical completion, as well as supplying any maintenance documents, warranties and care instructions.

"Styles come and go. Good design is a language, not a style."
